How the board works
Three things happen here, and only three. Everything after the third happens between two students, wherever they like.
Read the board
Trips and requests leaving your campus, in the order they leave. Reading needs no account.
Post with your school address
Publishing takes a .edu address that receives mail. A post says where and when — never how to reach you.
Unlock a contact card
Every unlock is free for now. Then you take it from there, on WeChat or by phone.
The boardforgets.
A post leaves on its own once its departure has passed. Nobody has to clean up after it, so what you read here is what is still true.
YOOP sells one thing.
A way to reach the student who posted. Everything a ride service would add, it leaves out on purpose.
- It arranges no trip.
- It carries nobody.
- It doesn’t vouch for anybody.
- It never sets, collects or guarantees the price of a trip.
- Every account holds a working email address at a US school, checked when the account was made and again each year. That is all YOOP asserts about anybody.
- A person reads every complaint and answers within three business days.
